Week 2 Softball Rankings

The top ten takes into account a team's record, strenghth of schedule and other factors including the potential of the team down the road.

Week 2 Softball Rankings

1. Mandarin (3-0)
Previous ranking: No. 1
Last week: Went 2-0 with wins over Orange Park and Sandalwood
Key wins: Orange Park
Key losses: None
This week: First Coast (Feb 24), at Fletcher (Feb 26), Bishop Snyder (Feb 27)
Comment: Mandarin looks invincable after sweeping District 1-6A rivals Orange Park and Sandalwood.

2. Fletcher (5-0)
Previous ranking: No. 2
Last week: Went 3-0 with wins over Sandalwood, Orange Park, First Coast
Key wins: Orange Park
Key losses: None
This week: at Buchholz (Feb 24), Mandarin (Feb 26), Hilliard (Feb 27)
Comment: Fletcher cruises with wins over District 1-6A rivals Sandalwood and Orange Park along with 5A First Coast.

3. Providence (3-0)
Previous ranking: No. 4
Last week: Went 3-0 with wins over ACD, UC and Eagle's View
Key wins: Eagle's View
Key losses: None
This week: at ACD (Feb 23), at St. Joseph (Feb 24), Menendez (Feb 26)
Comment: Class 2A state champs Providence finally opened their season and did so with three wins including a huge win over 1A state champ Eagle's View.

4. Eagle's View (2-2)
Previous ranking: No. 3
Last week: Went 2-1, wins over St. Francis, Bishop Snyder
Key wins: Bishop Snyder
Key losses: Providence
This week: at Nease (Feb 24), Bartram Trail (Feb 26)
Comment: Eagle's View bounced back from season opening loss to Orange Park with wins over St. Francis and Bishop Snyder, before falling to Providence.

5. Baker County (3-1)
Previous ranking: No. 5
Last week: Went 2-0 with wins over Ridgeview and Fernandina Beach
Key wins: First Coast
Key losses: Fletcher
This week: Santa Fe (Feb 24), at Hilliard (Feb 26)
Comment: After a six day layoff, Baker County was back to work with wins on the road at Ridgeview and Fernandina Beach.

6. Stanton (6-0)
Previous ranking: No. 6
Last week: Went 3-0 with wins over Jackson, Raines and Sandalwood
Key wins: Paxon
Key losses: None
This week: Bishop Kenny (Feb 24), Ed White (Feb 26)
Comment: Stanton cruises with easy wins over Jackson, Raines and Sandalwood to remain undefeated.

7. Bartram Trail (3-0)
Previous ranking: No. 8
Last week: Went 2-0 with wins over Wolfson and Ridgeview
Key wins: Bishop Kenny
Key losses: None
This week: Parker (Feb 24), at Bolles (Feb 25), at Eagle's View (Feb 26)
Comment: Bears continue to roll, rolling along with wins over Wolfson and Ridgeview.

Last week: Went 2-1 with wins over Palm Coast and Middleburg

This week: at Suwannee (Feb 24), Ridgeview (Feb 27)
Comment: Wins over 5A Palm Coast and rival Middleburg was sandwhiched in between a loss to Bradford County.

9. Bishop Snyder (2-1)
Previous ranking: No. 9
Last week: Went 2-1 with wins over Fernandina Beach, Trinity Christian, lost to Yulee
Key wins: None
Key losses: Eagle's View, Yulee
This week: at Bolles (Feb 24), at Yulee (Feb 26), at Mandarin (Feb 27)
Comment: Season got off to a solid start with wins over Fernandina Beach and Trinity Christian in between a loss to Eagle's View.

10. West Nassau (2-1)
Previous ranking: No. 10
Last week: Went 1-1, falling to Yulee, beating St. Johns Country Day
Key wins: None
Key losses: Yulee
This week: at Baldwin (Feb 24), Episcopal (Feb 26), Fernandina Beach (Feb 27)
Comment: After stunning loss to Yulee, West Nassau rebounded with a win over St. Johns Country Day.
