The top ten takes into account a team's record, strength of schedule and other factors including the potential of the team down the road.

Week 1 Softball Rankings

1. Mandarin (2-0)

Last week: Went 2-0 with wins over Englewood, Orange Park
Key wins: None

This week: at Sandalwood (Feb. 19)
Comment: Mandarin kicked off their season with convincing wins over Englewood and Orange Park.

2. Fletcher (2-0)
Previous ranking; No. 2
Last week: Went 2-0 knocking off St. Augustine, Baker County
Key wins: Baker County
Key losses: None
This week: at Sandalwood (Feb. 17), at Orange Park (Feb. 19), at First Coast (Feb. 20)
Comment: Fletcher picked up where it left off last season getting off to a great start with a wins over St. Augustine and 4A Final Four partcipant Baker County.

3. Eagle's View (0-1)
Previous ranking: No. 3
Last week: Went 0-1, losing to Orange Park
Key wins: None
Key losses: Orange Park
This week: St. Francis (Feb 17), at Bishop Snyder (Feb 19), Providence (Feb 20)
Comment: Class 2A state champs Eagle's View beefed up their schedule, beginning with a loss to 6A Orange Park.

Last week: Did not play

This week: ACD (Feb 17), UC (Feb 19), at Eagle's View (Feb 20)
Comment: Games against Eagle's View and Baker County were cancelled.

5. Baker County (1-1)

Last week: Went 1-1, win over First Coast
Key wins: First Coast
Key losses: Fletcher
This week: at Ridgeview (Feb.. 19), at Fernandina Beach (Feb. 20)
Comment: Last season's big surprise Baker County, started off on the right foot knocking off 5A First Coast before falling to 6A Fletcher.

6. Stanton (3-0)
Previous ranking: No. 6
Last week: Went 3-0 with wins over Forrest, Fernandina Beach and Paxon
Key wins: Paxon
Key losses: None
This week: Jackson (Feb 18), at Raines (Feb 19), Sandalwood (Feb 20)
Comment: Stanton kicked off its season with district wins over Forrest and Paxon as well as Fernandina Beach.

7. Clay (2-0)
Previous ranking: No. 7
Last week: Went 2-0 with wins over Orange Park, Menendez
Key wins: Orange Park
Key losses: None
This week: Palm Coast (Feb 16), Bradford (Feb 17), at Middleburg (Feb 20)
Comment: Matt Lewis squad started off right with wins on the road at 6A Orange Park and 4A Pedro Menendez.

8. Bartram Trail (1-0)

Last week: Went 1-0, with a win over Bishop Kenny
Key wins: Bishop Kenny
Key losses: None
This week: at Wolfson (Feb. 17), Ridgeview (Feb.20)
Comment: Defending 5A state champs, reloaded again and had little trouble with 4A Bishop Kenny to open the season.

Key losses: None
This week: Fernandina Beach (Feb 17), Eagle's View (Feb 19, at Trinity (Feb 20)
Comment: Snyder had ten days off after competing in the Ed White Pre-Season Classic.

10. West Nassau (1-0)

Last week: Went 1-0, win over Trinity Christian
Key wins: None
Key losses: None
This week: at Yulee (Feb 17), at St. Johns (Feb 20)
Comment: West Nassau took their first step of many of getting back to the Final Four with a season opening win over district rival Trinity Christian.
